Daffodil Day 2010
The National Bank’s support of the Cancer Society and Daffodil Day is one of New
Zealand’s most iconic sponsorships. Friday 27th August 2010 marks the 20th anniversary
of the relationship between the Cancer Society and The National Bank. Our staff
whole-heartedly support Daffodil Day every year in August, and The National Bank
is proud to be Principal Sponsor of such a worthwhile cause.
Each year around 17,000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with cancer, and 1 in 3 people
will be affected by cancer. The diagnosis of cancer, and the treatment regime that
follows, is likely to seriously disrupt the lives of the patient and their families
and friends.
Daffodil Day proceeds are allocated to cancer research, prevention, education and
support to patients and their families. The Cancer Society supports patients and
their family by:
- Providing accommodation to patients, who need to travel away from home for treatment
- Providing support & information to patients and their families
- Funding research into cancer.
Over 20 years, National Bank staff have raised nearly 13 million dollars
toward Daffodil Day. Daffodil Day proceeds collected by National Bank staff in your
region are allocated directly to your local Cancer Society division to help people
in your community that are affected by cancer.
The National Bank would like to thank the following suppliers for their generous
donations towards fundraising events for Daffodil Day 2010:
