Daffodil Day
The Cancer Society's Daffodil Day is one of The National Bank's most prominent
and important sponsorships. Staff have wholeheartedly supported Daffodil Day for
over 18 years now, and The National Bank is proud to be Principal Sponsor of
such a worthwhile cause.
Daffodil Day proceeds are allocated to cancer research, prevention and
education. Each year around 17,000 New Zealanders are diagnosed with cancer, and
1 in 3 people will be affected by cancer.
The diagnosis of cancer, and the treatment regime that follows, is likely to
seriously disrupt the lives of patients and their families and friends.
The Cancer Society supports patients and their families by:
- Providing accommodation to patients, who need to travel away from home for
treatment.
- Providing information and advice
- Funding research into cancer.
National Bank staff embrace the opportunity to fundraise for such an important
cause that impacts so many local communities. In the time that The National Bank
has been involved with The Cancer Society, staff have raised more than
$13 million.
